Dr. Henderson received his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, graduating with multiple honors recognizing his leadership and academic performance. While attending optometry school he served as president of the American Optometric Student Association, representing over 6,800 optometry students and the profession at large.
Dr. Henderson practices full scope optometry, including medical eye care, vision and learning assessments, and specialty contact lenses. He has special interests in the evaluation and treatment of dry eye syndrome, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Henderson is trained in managing many systemic health conditions that affect the eyes.
He has been published in the Journal of Global Health on the topic of global eye care needs and currently serves on the board of directors for the Lamu Center of Preventative Health in Lamu, Kenya.
