Meet Dr. Jonathan Skoner (Wexford, PA)

Dr. Jonathan Skoner earned his Doctor of Optometry degree with high honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in 2013. Since graduation, he has devoted his career to advancing myopia management and orthokeratology.

After completing optometry school, Dr. Skoner joined Eye Care Specialties and completed a five-year fellowship in myopia management and orthokeratology through the International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (IAOMC), the world’s leading authority in the field, becoming the first IAOMC-trained fellow in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Skoner directs the Myopia Management and Orthokeratology Clinic at Eye Care Specialties of PA–Wexford and currently serves as President and Chair of Fellowship for the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (AAOMC), where he plays a central role in education and clinical standards.

He has extensive experience in all aspects of myopia management, including pharmaceutical atropine therapy, soft myopia-control contact lenses, orthokeratology, spectacle-based control strategies, combination treatments, and lifestyle interventions. Dr. Skoner is certified and highly experienced in custom orthokeratology lens design and fitting.

Dr. Skoner’s research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, particularly focusing on steroid safety and ophthalmic complications, and he is an internationally recognized speaker on myopia control and orthokeratology.
